Frequently Asked Questions

Q – What does Rocky Mountain Roof Doctors offer that other companies do not?

A – Quality and personalization. We pay our employees by the hour, not by the square. We do not send our work out to sub-contractors. We believe in maintaining an exceptional level of quality and craftsmanship in our work, and train all of our staff to do the same. We feel that having employees rather than Sub-contracted labor enables us to maintain a higher level of quality control, and the ability to monitor and mange our work crew’s efficiency onsite. We take pride in our projects, and never leave the job site unsightly, or damaged! We personalize our care of the project, the animals we encounter, and even the prize flowerbeds that need special covering during the tear-off process. It is our attention to these details that we believe sets us apart, and that has earned us a Golden Star Award from the Better Business Bureau

Q – Do you offer Free Estimates?

A – Rocky Mountain Roof Doctors offers Free Estimates in most circumstances. Please refer to our “Real Estate Transactions” page for exclusions to this offer.

Q – Why might your bid be more than your competitors?

A – Although we strive to offer very competitive bids, there could be many different reasons why our bid might be slightly higher than one of our competitors:

  • We pay our employees by the hour, not by the square. This enables our employees to maintain our higher quality standards because they are not rushing through a project so that they can receive a paycheck.
  • All contractors might not have bid the same scope of work.
  • We do not sub-contract out our work. Our installers are all employees of Rocky Mountain Roof Doctors and we can guarantee that they are all insured with Workers Compensation insurance. We have also made sure that they are legally able to perform work within the United States through a social security number verification process.
  • We can guarantee that the work that is being performed on your project is covered under our general liability insurance. Insurance certificates only prove that the company has some form of coverage, as an investor you should require that the company you choose provide proof that the work they will perform is covered under their general liability insurance. Many companies often have multiple exclusions on their policies, or contractor may not continue their insurance after receiving their certificate copy. We provide proof of our insurance at time of estimate and will be happy to give detailed coverage information upon request.
  • Often times companies do not pull a permit for the work that they perform, and this will lower their estimated cost as the permit can run from $50.00 to $1,000.00 depending on the scope of work and the city/county that the work is being completed in. Pulling a permit insures that the companies work is inspected not only by their job supervisor, but by the city or county’s building department to make sure they have followed proper building code and installation procedures. If a permit is not pulled, and a final inspection is not completed, many manufactures have provisions that void the warranty for the materials that have been installed.
  • We offer a 5-year workmanship warranty with options to extend the warranty to 10 years or longer. Most companies will only warranty their work for 3 years, if they warranty it at all. Other companies may offer extended workmanship warranties, however, they may be out of business before the warranty expires. Be sure to protect yourself against poor workmanship issues that can shorten the life span of your roof!

Q - How do I request a free estimate? :

A – You can either click on the Email Doctor button of our web page to complete the form there, or you can call us at our office number of 720-887-1265. It will not be necessary for someone to be home at the time of the estimate provided that we have access to your property without assistance. We do require entrance to the property if there is a leak that is causing internal damage. This helps us to better identify where the leak is coming from. In this instance, a specific appointment time is required, and you can indicate your availability with our office staff when you call, or on the questionnaire on the “Email Doctor” page. If you have renters on the property, we will be happy to contact them before we arrive as well.

Q – How do I choose the right materials for my project?

A - Our estimators will be happy to meet with you and discuss the various materials available for your project, and the various pricing for each. We will be happy to provide literature about your options, and can meet you at your convenience with sample boards so you can be sure that the colors and textures in the brochure look the same in person. We also have links to most of our manufacturers on our web page under “Prescribed Products” so that you can research the products beyond meeting with your estimator.
